Akron Bazaar Makers at March Akron ArtWalk

Meet the Makers: March 2025

We are pleased to announce that we've partnered with Summit ArtSpace to bring our makers to the quarterly Akron ArtWalk events. We will be located on the third floor. Here's who you'll find:

Julie Cajigas, Ms.TakesbyTheLake

Online | Facebook | Instagram

"A few years ago, I fell in love with finding beach glass and fossils on the shores of Lake Erie. I ended up with so much glass and rocks in my home that my husband insisted I find somewhere for them to go. I wanted to find a way to make sure that my findings could be seen and enjoyed by others (including myself!). So, I learned how to wire wrap, and have spent the last year developing my curled, flowy, organic style. I also began making little art prints with my beach glass based on requests from friends and family that have become popular. I do my best to identify fossils and occasionally pieces of glass so I can create truly meaningful pieces of jewelry. Wherever I pop up with my items, I spend most of my time educating those who visit my table about Lake Erie beach glass and the fossils native to the Great Lakes/Lake Erie. I am also now holding wire wrapping and crafting workshops to share what I've learned with others. I'm Ms.TakesByTheLake because I'm a mom out here making a lot of mistakes - and the old insult toward Cleveland always made me roll my eyes, so I'm turning it into something positive. Come geek out about beach combing with me sometime soon!”

Sarah Pierce, Pierce Jewelry

"Pierce Jewelry offers a wide variety of handcrafted, original items. All of the jewelry is created using sterling silver, 14K gold and gemstones. Each piece starts out as basic wire or sheet and is then cut, formed, soldered, hammered, finished and set as needed. The use of vitreous enamels in some of the pieces adds additional color and depth to the line. The signature leaf shape and hammer texture is evident across the entire line.”

My novel weaves together complex characters, passionate romance, heart-pounding suspense, high-stakes emotions, and tales of love, loss, trauma, grief, and the gripping power of self-love and a strong support system. As my love for books is strong, I also feature popular bookish stickers that are always a hit, as well as a DIY, creative Bookmark Station. My debut novel, The Way Home, is Volume One of The Hearts of Holt Series. About the book: In this steamy, dual-point-of-view, high-stakes, second-chance romance, love isn’t just a refuge; it’s a battlefield. Lia and Christian must decide if they’ll let past mistakes muddle their future or risk it all to find their happily ever after. Perfect for fans of small-town secrets, sizzling chemistry, and heart-pounding suspense, The Way Home delivers an unforgettable story of love, loss, and redemption. If you’ve ever faced a crossroads in life or wondered how to move on after heartbreak, this story will resonate with you and stay with you long after the final chapter. Pour yourself a glass of wine and prepare to be swept away. You won’t be able to put this book down. Coming 2025: Volume Two of The Hearts of Holt Saga Holt’s small-town secrets continue to unravel. The second installment promises even more sizzling romance, dangerous intrigue, and both friends and strangers caught in the crosshairs of Holt’s dark and twisting shadows. The stakes are higher, the passion is fiercer, and the cost of love could be deadly.”
