Meet the Makers: Little Italy Art Walk x Bazaar PLUS Market Square June 1st!

It's a fantastic weekend to support local makers and artists in Cleveland! We will have Bazaar makers in two locations: our usual Market Square Park across from the West Side Market (Saturday June first, 10-4:00 p.m.) but also in Little Italy as part of their summer art walk (Bazaar makers will be there Friday 5-9 and Saturday 12-9). Our makers will be in the Murray Hill Galleries building, in the first floor hallway and inside Alchemy Studio. Be sure to stop by Snakes and Aceys across the street, too, owned by longtime Bazaar fave Hannah Manocchio!

Katelyn M, Impatient Arts

Instagram

“My name is Kat Mikuluk and I am a Cleveland-based artist with a focus in linoleum printmaking and oil painting. The name of my art business, Impatient Arts, comes from my experience of frustrations (or challenges) that comes with printmaking versus the ease and predictability of oil painting. I find that both of these mediums serve me in different ways and I try to honor the polarity of the two. I am a huge believer that ownership of fine art can be for everyone; I love many things about linocut printmaking, but my favorite is how easily it allows you to share your art with the community. All of my prints are my original illustrations that are carved and hand printed onto an array of different papers and fabrics. Besides standard prints, I also use these block carvings to print on a variety of different paper goods, including but not limited to bookmarks, greeting cards, and softcover journals. With my second love being oil painting, I wanted more accessible options for sharing my work than just selling the paintings themselves, and recently began carrying high-quality giclee prints and vinyl stickers. Though I carry prints of my paintings, I also have mini oil paintings on cotton paper that are available for a reasonable price."

The earrings are cut from the original record labels- all completely one-of-a-kind. In addition, I make large pendant necklaces featuring tarot cards and celebrity mug shots- they make great conversation pieces! My shop name comes from my nickname given to me by Betsey Johnson. "It is my passion to create captivating jewelry and cut stones that are alluring, versatile, and vibrant with the feelings of pure joy and inspiration - talismans or amulets to wear throughout the day. I use captivating, natural gemstones, lustrous sterling and fine silver, gold-filled and copper metals in my designs. Why? Historically precious stones and metals have been used to embue leaders with strength, courage, will and other positive qualities. And in today's terms, precious metals and gemstones are eco-friendly. They are healthy, naturally beautiful, and feel wonderful against your skin."
