Susan Steinicke is a mixed media artist from Lake County, on the northeast coast of Cleveland, Ohio. Her work is inspired by her many years as a rock and jazz vocalist and wallcovering designer. Her love of all genres of music and surface pattern are combined into one-of-a-kind handbags, tote bags, nicho memorial alters and pendant necklaces. Re-purposed record album covers are lined with specialty paper, laminated, hole punched and grommeted. Nylon webbing/belting or nylon guitar straps are then sewn on by machine and the album pieces are hand laced together using cotton macrame cord. The finished product typically measures 12" x 12" x 4", although other sizes are possible. The necklaces are miniature prints of classic record albums encapsulated under glass, measuring 1" x 1" square. Susan will work with the client to create a custom bag utilizing their favorite record album, which are sourced through her extensive collection or purchased through antique stores, record stores or online. Flaunt your ÒfandomÓ with a HiFiDiva record album tote of your favorite band!
