IÕm Connor, the artist behind StudioRiva. I create mixed-media functional art pieces like lamps and clocks that blend functionality with imaginative design. My main aim with my work is to redefine art as something one interacts with everyday, rather than something that hangs on a wall or sits on a shelf to sometimes be admired but mostly forgotten. Each piece is brought to life through a variety of mediums, including woodworking, 3D printing, scratch-building, and electronics. Whatever the idea calls for, IÕll use the tools and techniques needed to make it happen. I strive to emphasize the use of foraged and recycled materials in my art, and to challenge the idea that artists need special materials to make something impactful. I hope to convince others that with a sprinkle of imagination, forgotten and discarded things can be turned into art that is meaningful, bespoke, and whimsical.
